With an extraordinary journey spanning over 25 years as a mystic, initiate, and adept in the enigmatic realms of Voodoo, Ifa, and Yogic traditions, Sri Eshu emerges as a beacon of wisdom and transformation.
His odyssey commenced at the University of Georgia, where Sri Eshu pursued a degree in Religious Studies, laying the foundation for his profound spiritual exploration. It was during these formative years that he experienced the profound initiation into the mystical practices of Shaivism, guided by a spiritual teacher hailing from the mystical lands of Tamil Nadu. This sacred initiation ignited a flame within Sri Eshu, setting him on a path of unparalleled discovery.
Over the course of a decade, Sri Eshu further expanded his spiritual repertoire by becoming a trained Awo/Priest of the Ifa Orisha African Spiritual System. This initiation bestowed upon him the knowledge and wisdom of divination and ritual procedures, enabling him to offer guidance and insight to seekers.
As a guardian of the mystical arts, Sri Eshu extends a vast array of ritual services to both initiates and those new to the spiritual realm. From the ancient divination techniques of Ifa to the creation of consecrated shrines, altars, talismans, charms, and fetishes, Sri Eshu weaves intricate webs of spiritual power and protection. His repertoire includes an expansive range of rituals such as attraction and court case rituals, road opening ceremonies, pujas, and esoteric initiations/activations. The Yoruba theology teaches us that there are 201 powers of the right (Ibora/Irumole) called Orisha whose role is to act as protectors and facilitators of humankind, But there are also 201 powers to the left called "Ajogun" (Demons) whose role is to present humans with challenges and obstacles.
Eshu's place alone is unique because he is both an "Orisha" and the leader of the " Ajogun" He is the one deity that is found as the "one" on both sides Orisa (201) and Ajogun (201) being able to be in all places at the same time.
As the head Ajogun, Eshu commands the eight warlords of the left, agents of mischief
• Iku (death)
• Arun (sickness)
• Egba (paralysis)
• Epe (curse)
• Ewon (imprisonment)
• Oran (great trouble)
• Ofo ( great loss)
• Ese (all other problems)
For this reason, Eshu is feared as he is loved by all. Eshu is offered sacrifice before any other Orisha in every ceremony. He is unique in that everywhere where the Orisha are worshiped he is also honored, his manifestations are many and so are his attributes. It is said there are 256 paths of Eshu. One for each of the 256 Odu Ifa.
Eshu is considered the god of fate and as such can be said to be the most important Orisha. His ability to facilitate one's aspirations , as well as his being able to block them, makes him indispensable: simply stated without Eshu nothing can be accomplished.
